Touring and Renting the Ayer Mansion



Tours of the Ayer Mansion are usually offered at least one Saturday and one Wednesday a month (with the exception of August, when the house is closed to the public) and are posted two months in advance. Tours last approximately one and a quarter hour. Reservations are required for all public tours as space is limited. If you have reserved a spot, but cannot attend, please let us know so that we can plan accordingly.

To make a reservation, email or call 617-536-2586. Donations for tours are $20 for adults, $10 for students (21 and under) and senior citizens (65 or older). To pay online, click here or pay in cash or by check at the time of the tour.

DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, we are not offering public tours at this time. 



To request a private tour of the house, or to find out about public tours at a later date than those posted above, please contact us at or call 617-536-2586. The cost for private tours is $35 per person ($15 per person for non-profit groups). Please note, however, that private tours require extra coordination and special accommodations. To cover the costs of these additional efforts, a non-refundable, minimum on-line donation of $150 is required at the time of booking, with any balance due the day of the tour.  Thank you for your understanding.

The Ayer Mansion is available for rental for certain occasions. Please note, however, that due to size and other restrictions, we regret that wedding events are not possible. WE REGRET THAT NO EVENTS ARE ALLOWED DURING COVID RESTRICTIONS.
